I would say this definately counts as classic sci-fi. Short description from Wikipedia:

A Voyage to Arcturus is a novel by the Scottish writer David Lindsay. First published in 1920, it combines fantasy, philosophy and science fiction in an exploration of the nature of good and evil and their relationship with existence. It has been described by the critic and philosopher Colin Wilson as the "greatest novel of the twentieth century"

I was curious to see if anyone else had read it as it is one of my favourite books. Its a compelling and rich novel, made all the more strange by its lack of convential plot/character development, and its - well - lack of reasoning behind any of the character's actions.
