Fox's new TV series Fringe has really impressed me and I can't wait for the next episode. It has a "feel" to it that reminds me of X-Files, but I think I will like this one a lot more.
The story is about an FBI agent who recruits a demented scientist (referred to as a modern day "Dr. Frankenstein" by his own son) and his son to help her investigate a series of events involving science. The science of the show is more like pseudo-science, called "fringe science." It uses theories that are a bit off-track and unconventional for the background, and does it very well. It has humorous moments without resorting to parody episodes like X-Files did, and yet it has a serious story-line.
I was a little miffed at a detail in episode 11, but it could have been worse so I let it go. They referred to a viral specimen as a "cell," which I understand is technically untrue. Viruses don't consist of complete cells because they don't have DNA. They only have RNA and therefore cannot reproduce without a host. Like I said, though, I got over it because it's still good.
